Some exciting news just in.Long time friend and talented photographer Nigel Law has just secured new premises for the business he and his wife run,Savannah Canoe & Kayak (See link below). As well as selling all the best canoe and kayaking equipment it will also house a dedicated gallery space. Nigel and I go way back, we were both born in Greater London but both grew up on the South Coast. Myself in Lymington,Nigel in Bournemouth. We both studied photography at Art College.Nigel at Bournemouth Art College and myself at Salisbury College of Art. We both wound up back in London taking pictures. Nigel worked for iD Magazine and shot bands(See Flowered Ups' Iconic sleeve). I worked for the BBC ,shot bands and joined Sony Music.
In the early Nineties,Nigel got increasingly bored with the nepotism, wanabees and hangers on that seemed to gravitate towards the London arts scene. He bought a mountain bike a tent and a trailer and cycled across the New World in search of a meaningful future....He has never looked back.
Now,along with his lovely wife Kristin ,he is a well respected Surf Kayak Instructor and Tour Operator. They have paddled the length of The Mississippi River,The Gulf Coast and recently returned from a 250 mile Kayak trip along the Ganges.
