There are many classic albums in circulation but possibly the most unrecognised must be the exquisite recording that is "The Magical World Of The Strands",credited on the sleeve as being by Michael Head introducing The Strands.
Ostensibly this is in fact a Shack release,as the credits include John Head and long time Shack drummer Iain Templeton. Recorded in the mid 90s it was eventually released in 1997 on the somewhat obscure Paris based Megaphone Music label (catalogue no Mega 1) and is only available as an import.
Beautifully crafted with orchestration by Leslie Roberts ,The Strands CD is quite a pricey item available on Amazon new for around £40.It is however worth every penny. If you haven't yet heard this album or indeed other Shack titles, spoil yourself and buy one now.You wont be disappointed.
The Magical World Of The Strands was reviewed in the NME by John Mulvey circa 1997. Mick was described thus "Michael Head, elusive genius with few contemporary equals" enough said!
